Dr. Heather Krantz is a board-certified medical doctor in both obstetrics/gynecology and integrative medicine. She completed her medical degree, internship, and residency training at the University of Kansas. At Paloma Health, her focus is on treating patients with hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and Hashimoto's disease (an autoimmune condition attacking the thyroid gland).
Over the past three decades, Dr. Krantz has practiced as a health care provider in health maintenance organizations (HMO), private practice, and community health settings where she began to see a large disconnect between traditional medicine and true wellness. She completed the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona with Dr. Andrew Weil
Dr. Krantz is passionate about integrative medicine which considers the whole person and uses an intelligent combination of traditional and alternative therapeutic approaches to develop treatment plans that help patients achieve optimal health and healing. She treats thyroid patients using an integrative approach to stabilize thyroid levels and reduce symptoms of hypothyroidism.
Over the last decade, Dr. Heather Krantz has practiced consultative integrative medicine and taught mindfulness-based stress reduction, mindful self-compassion classes as well as mindfulness workshops.
Dr. Krantz lives in the mountains in beautiful Bend, Oregon with her husband and their two whippets. When she is not treating patients with thyroid disease, she loves to downhill ski, camp, hike, cook, write, and read. She is also the author of six books for young children about mindfulness, compassion, sleep, and grief.
