About

Dr Heather Krantz

Dr. Heather Krantz is a board-certified medical doctor in both obstetrics/gynecology and integrative medicine.  She completed her medical degree, internship, and residency training at the University of Kansas. At Paloma Health, her focus is on treating patients with hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and Hashimoto's disease (an autoimmune condition attacking the thyroid gland).

Over the past three decades, Dr. Krantz has practiced as a health care provider in health maintenance organizations (HMO), private practice, and community health settings where she began to see a large disconnect between traditional medicine and true wellness. She completed the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona with Dr. Andrew Weil

Dr. Krantz is passionate about integrative medicine which considers the whole person and uses an intelligent combination of traditional and alternative therapeutic approaches to develop treatment plans that help patients achieve optimal health and healing. She treats thyroid patients using an integrative approach to stabilize thyroid levels and reduce symptoms of hypothyroidism.

Over the last decade, Dr. Heather Krantz has practiced consultative integrative medicine and taught mindfulness-based stress reduction, mindful self-compassion classes as well as mindfulness workshops.

Dr. Krantz lives in the mountains in beautiful Bend, Oregon with her husband and their two whippets. When she is not treating patients with thyroid disease, she loves to downhill ski, camp, hike, cook, write, and read. She is also the author of six books for young children about mindfulness, compassion, sleep, and grief.

C
easy to make an appointment, easy to download pre-existing lab work, easy to contact if need help, easy to locate the sort of doctor you would like to work with, good follow up and nutritional support, and a very knowledgeable doctor that i met with. I would 100% recommend to anyone with thyroid issues, even if just to get a second opinion.
A
Paloma has restored my faith in healthcare. I live in a small community and there are no specialists. My family practitioner didnt think I needed thyroid medication. After finding Paloma and with the help of Dr Krantz Im 9 months into my journey and feeling normal again! I cant say enough about Paloma or Dr Krantz!
B
Dr. Krantz was warm and professional. My appointment was timely and everything was explained very well. I received my prescription refills and couldn't be happier with my experience.
M
Very informative. Asked me questions about my symptoms, family health history and my current medications I take. Paloma finally gave me some answers. I had seen 3 different PCPs and neither were any help. I found Paloma and decided to have a virtual visit and was very satisfied.

For the first time since being diagnosed with Hashimoto in 2007, I felt heard and listened to. The "typical" Synthroid medication never worked for me - and previous MDs would not consider other options asides from continually increasing dosage. Dr. Krantz not only listened - but thoroughly explained alternatives and found a medication that would be a better fit considering absorption complications and food sensitivities/triggers I had.
J
After years of not being listened to, I had my first appointment with Paloma and was absolutely floored. The doctor gave me the diagnosis nobody else had even looked at which confirmed everything I’ve been struggling with. I've been working with him for almost 3 months now and he continues to listen, see me, and work with me to manage my health. I felt seen and heard for the first time and finally have answers. I am beyond thankful!
J
I used your service for the first time yesterday...omg - LIFE CHANGING! Finally! Being able to talk to the Dr for an entire 1/2 hour...what?! __That, like, never happens and it was awesome! There was actually time for the doctor to listen to me and explain my diagnosis and treatments. Dr. Krantz has the perfect disposition for her role, too - she's a great listener. It's amazing...and the cost is beyond fair. I couldn't ask for anything better, imo. It was so much better than all the endocrinologists I'd been to previously. Paloma is hypothyroid care without the massive expense and hassle.
